Analysis Of Emotive & Colloquial language -'WE❤ POP'magazine
The target
audience for the magazine 'WE ❤ POP'
is aimed at teenage girls 13-17. The writer uses a lot of emotive language
throughout this magazine. Emotive
language is used to create empathy. Through the use of this the audience is
able to understand the emotions of the characters and 'put themselves in a
character's shoes, it affects the readers in many different ways. One piece
emotive language that was used in this magazine was a negative emotion"
Zayn ditches Perrie in a pub" this has affected the reader in a negative
way many young girls must be feeling angry and annoyed, because of this the
reader would want to carry on and would want to know why zayn did such a
thing. This also makes the reader want to carry on reading the article to know
why zayn did it. Another piece of emotive language used in this magazine is a
more positive but a little negative emotion this emotion is ‘love’ and 'jealousy',
these emotion has a really big effect on teenage girls especially. “Hendall’s
romantic getaway". The world’s biggest boy bands team
member is on a romantic get away
with Kendall Jenner many young girls who love Harry
Styles would be quite jealous of this of
relationship but others would be very excited and just love
it and be very happy about their 'romantic getaway' this also
engages the reader in the article.
The target
audience for ' Transworld Skateboarding’ is aimed for males aged 15-21. The
writer uses colloquial language throughout this
magazine. Colloquial language is
the kind of language we use when we are speaking to
friends. Writers usually use this language to be able to relate
to their audience and to kind of show them that
they are your friends not just a random person who has written
an article for them to read. “What the hell is Tehachapi?" by
using this type of language i think the writer can relate more to the reader
especially because it is the perfect target audience.

Analysis of the colour used in the magazine.
1)
The main colours used throughout
this magazine are red, black, yellow and purple they have stuck to colours that
are used on the front cover of this magazine. The colour red refers to violence
and anger, the colour yellow represents new ideas.
The colour black is shown to represent the dark side. They will attract the
audience because they are very outgoing vibrant colours.
2)
The colour used throughout the
text such as font ,headlines etc.is mainly black but the sub headings for each
section are usually in different colours ,they are very similar to the colours
on the front of the magazine. By having a subheading in a different colour to
the text below it catches the readers the attention and wants them to read it
because it’s out there.
Analysing the front
cover of magazine
Image:
The main image on this magazine is of Ozzy Osbourne this
image is placed in centre of this magazine it takes up about half the page.
This image doesn’t look like a friendly invite to the reader, it looks very
aggressive and mean. The other pictures on the cover of this magazine look very
calm and invite the reader to open up the, magazine and read about it.
Title:
Kerang is the name of this magazine it is named
after a town in Australia, people who are interested or people whore from
Australia are more likely to read this magazine.
Subtitles:
This is magazine is based on rock music, it’s all
about rock artists and rock bands. So the target audience for this magazine
would be people who are interested in rock music it is usually aimed for male
and female but more males would be interested in a magazine like this.
Language:
The language used throughout this text is quite
formal, it is not really emotive but it does grab the reader’s attention, once
they read the sub heading they would want to carry on reading the rest of the
article.
Colour:
The colours used on the front cover of the kerang
magazine are red yellow black. The red is used to represent anger and violence
this relates to the image which is of Ozzy Osbourne, as you can see in the
picture he looks very angry. The colour yellow is a very bright colour
representing new ideas and the colour black is a very mysterious colour. This
shows us that reader is quite mysterious but has very bright ideas. This
magazine creates a very gloomy atmosphere
Price:
The target audience ages is based between 18-25 the
price for the magazine is £2.25, so it’s a great price.
Analysing the double
page article of a magazine
The theme throughout the article is rock, from rock artist
to rock bands and their. This double page
article is about ozzy osbourne, osbourne is a rock artist or as some may say
‘rock guru’ this article relates to the front cover of the magazine. The
magazines main coverline “through the keyhole” this is suggesting what is on
the other side of the door, this article is about Ozzys’ study room also known
as the ‘The Bunker , its telling us about all the interesting things he’s got
in there by doing this it makes the reader feel like they know him a lot more
and they can relate with him.it would make them feel like as if they are a
friend for knowing a lot of information about him from what he’s interested in
and what he’s not interested in. one of the items he has in his study is a
picture of him and Paul McCartney from the Beatles, he also tells us why he has
it, when he first heard the Beatles he said “it blew my head off. I’ve never
stopped loving the Beatles since”. This is telling us how much he loves the
Beatles and how much they actually mean to him. Another item he has in his
study is History books who would have ever thought Ozzy the rock star is interested
in history, he tells us, “I’m very into world war two, I’ve got thousands of
books on it, this shows us how passionate he is although he is “dyslexic “he
like to “to get stuck into stuff” in a sense once he has read something he
wants to carry on or learn more about that topic. He's also showing us although
your dyslexic you can do so much.
Analysing the editors letter
The editor’s letter is a very informal piece of
text, he has written this letter as if he is just messaging a friend, by doing
this he makes the reader feel more comfortable reading this. There is a picture
of the editor on this magazine this makes the reader relate more to text also
they get an inside on who has written this magazine and to let them know this
person is real.
